The majority of the problems with the GG1s were mechanical as were the problems with the BLI steamers. Though, some of the steamers did have DCC related problems. As I indicated the percentage is "low" but it's stll significant.

It's a known fact that all of the model railroad manufacturers encounter problems with products from time to time. They're still good products and as the manufacturer's listen and read customer and vendor input, they'll make improvements accordingly. Trainguy's problem may be an easy one to solve, but my point is that he should get it checked out.......if there is a problem that can't be fixed........exchange it.

Peace out! That´s right and not good.

But the "problem" that TRAINGUY1700 describes is in exact this way in the manual.
This manuals are the real problem. HEY THIS ARE REAL BOOKS TODAY!

However, Most of us will "RUN" their locomotive.

The BLI / QSI DCC operation manual - not included, A PDF download - has 137 pages (ONLY ENGLISH !). The DC one is smaler with 34 pages. When you had read this instruction you know much more about the electronic! In this manuals you will find nothing about the prototype !

MOST OF US SAY: I WILL NOT READ A BOOK, I WILL RUN MY TRAINS !!!

So the quick start manual of LIONEL is a good idea - one little sheet of paper declares all main functions!
