Not being DCC, I had no choice in the matter, didn't want to get re-ended. One can also do the same on a caboose, for a constant on red , just by getting a non-blinking led. ADDENDUM: On the caboose I use a smaller red led, 5mm, part# 276.209, insert it into the rear wide railing into the caboose body. and connect to above assembly. Also used the same idea in the rear roof of my Athearn 72' observation end car by drilling a hole to seat the led and connect to the above assembly.
