Good Morning Everyone,

it´s been the coldest night in our region since they started to record temperatures in the 18th century! A temperature of -18 C makes seem a freezer warm! Spend about 15 minutes to de-ice my car -

SHIIVERRRRR!

Janie, hot tea, please, and a French toast - I´ll be in the corner booth, trying to warm up!

Packer - I talked to Vinnie - it was one of his bright moments - about trebuchets, ballistas and onagers. He clearly told me, that no dang furriners are allowed in the Diner. The same goes for that dogapult, Sam - Vinnie seems to have a zero tolerance policy established.

Here is a link which may be of interest!

Sawyer - take care of your bones. Rugby ain´t no game for sissies, no, Sir!

JR - not a bad idea! I actually inquired about getting an engineer´s licence, but they told me I´d be to old for that - (expletive deleted), grumble, rant!

Tom - mind if I add a little to your geography knowledge? Schwarzwald is not Bavaria - it is a little west of that state of Lederhosen and beer! The really beautiful Schwarzwald region is in the state of Wuerttemberg and people there have a dialect of their own - actually very close to the Swiss dialect. If you like hiking and enjoy good food - this is the place to go. From Hamburg, it is about 500 miles or 6 hours to go there. Remember, we still have no general speed limit on our Autobahns! [:)]

Germany is not even the size of Texas, but it enjoys the luxury (and the cost) of 16 federal states, each state with its own parliament. If you just add up the number of representatives and include the federal parliament, we have over 1,500 elected representatives! Ridiculous! You can cross all of Germany in a day by car and still have time left to visit some of the country´s neighbors.Any attempt to streamline our legislature has failed so far. [soapbox]

Chris - seems as if That ain´t that bad afterall! [tup]

Track planning is supposed to be fun - but why do things always turn out differently than I thought they´d be. It is either too much track for the space or too little space for the tracks I need. Changing scale is no solution to the issue, either. Must be one of Murphy´s laws... [:(] I am still not sure which way I should head, but as my CFO still has objections to my funding proposals, I will remain in the planning phase for a little more time.

The DIY cheque goes to some gear that we need to install in our bathroom - so no lumber to start building my layout! That´s a [tdn]

Have a good day!
