Eriediamond, Your situation with having to upgrade is pretty common. Especially in light of new software releases. My 2 year old Ti 4600 Geforce 4 video card with it's 128 meg of memory still runs well... however after playing Aurans 2004 trains and also Call to Duty (A military ww2 game) I will need to upgrade to the Ultra 5950 card with the 256 meg of memory. In order to run these sims and games flawlessy. These componets for a bigger and faster computers are similar to a cost of a New Engine or several Freight cars. etc./.. Thank fully the downloads are freely given by those who created the new material. We are approaching a year or two away from Terabyte storage for home computers. I have 200 Gig of storage now am capable of going to 800 gig but will wait until hard drive prices come down a bit. A similar situation is also for Internet connections.. Dailup is no longer suitable for downloads or even safe broswing, We must move on to DSL or Cable etc.. They are advertising the Dailup accelerators but they do not increase file or music transfer speeds. I remember when Lionel's Camera in a Locomotive was the star of the show. That was a blast to be able to see your layout from a scale engineer's view going down the track. Best of Luck!
