I'm only 17, so I was born long after the railroads stopped using steam. I still would have to say that I prefer steam (although I love diesel, too, especially first generation). There's just something so incredible about a steam engine. A steam locomotive is almost a living creature and there's something magical about them. It's kind of hard to describe, but the steam fans will know what I'm talking about!
