They are not in the poll because the poll is too old. I just go around digging up old topics because I have too much time on my hands.

I voted for the GE AC4400 but I also say the C44-9W is just as good. The same loco but just DC. I really like them because Kato Ac4400 runs so *** well that I love the AC4400. My favorite engine however is the SD70M unflared or Flared UP engines

Wow! I'm quite suprised. I voted for the GE44-ton switcher and thought it would be close to last in the poll. But nooooo....

I gotta have my 70 tonners...and 44 tonners, too! They are so little and yet such good work horses.

I just painting another like this one. It'll be in operation next week.

44 tonners. Look very good in Southern paint. I really didn't like the U-boats or the -7series up. I have a NS U30C that would make a great scrap engine...[:-,]

Former CSX B36-7 5840 since I took a picture of it passing the Kennesaw House hotel building (now the Marietta Museum of History) in Marietta, Georgia, where the Andrew Raiders of Great Locomotive Chase fame boarded the train pulled by the Western and Atlantic locomotive GENERAL on 4-12-1862 during the Civil War (The General is Now housed in the Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw, Georgia, not former CSX B36-7 5840.)

Honestly, I much prefer any EMD to a GE. But that's me.

The Dash 8-40B and BWs.

I just got the second loco in the mail today - a fantastic looking and running Atlas Silver Master model - runs good with my older Atlas Master 40B !!!

The Old Dog is simply "turned off" by large main line engines of any brand.

The Old Dog would suggest that the GE 44 tonner is a good looking engine and about the correct for my layout. It is my under standing that the GE 65 tonner was almost identical in appearance, so one gets a "two for one" engine.

For larger power the GE 70 tonner is quite nice, and probably be the largest engine on my pike.

It would be great if somebody would develop a GE 45 tonner with side rods for light duty.

If some would make a steeple cab superstructure for the 44 tonner. It would make a nice "slug" for a 44 tonner. GE apparently built some electric engines looking like 44 tonners as later as 1952.

In addition, hooking a 44 tonner to a gas-electric could make a nice push-pull passenger consist.

Models of the GE 25 tonner and 35 tonner would be nice.

The we move to the box cabs

Have fun

Mine is the Amtrak Dash 8-32BHW. I have always liked that locomotive, but I really liked them in the "Pepsi Can" scheme. I guess because they look like a freight engine pulling a passenger train is why I like them the most
