It appears from looking at the main decoder pro screen that lists all the engines on you tube that you can not alter the engines location on the screen after inputting them. example you enter engine 3 into the list first followed by 2 and 1. That is the order they are in permanently. in a spreadsheet you can add rows or columns and move the data. In that case you could enter a blank row at the top of the list and then move 1 to the top followed by 2 and 3. Can you do that in decoder pro?
I assume you're talking about the roster page? I believe the default for the roster is engines are listed by order of ID number, lowest first. There might be a way to go into the preferences and change that, I'm not sure?
You don't enter all then engines on the roster page first. What you would do is start by putting an engine on the programming track and selecting "new engine" and then "read type by decoder". It will then come up with the type of decoder you're using - it could have several similar ones from that maker, and you choose the one you are using.
Then you would open the full pages and read all the CVs. It has a first page where you enter your info - the railroad and engine number, owner, notes etc. When you are done with it all and save it, it then adds that engine on your roster page. You'd then do a second engine the same way.
DecoderPro is not a spreadsheet and was never meant to be one. That said you can sort by column (ID, DCC Address etc.)
With over 200 entries in my Decoder Pro roster I'm seriously looking at creating some 'Roster Groups' whereby I can create categories i.e. diesel, steam, electric, or perhaps by road name thus you'll be working with smaller, dedicated groups. You can have more than one entry in several groups as well.

This might help make your roster more manageable.
Good Luck, Ed
I maintain a club roster which includes members locos and accessory decoders, each member has their own group plus 3 separate club groups. It's the only way for us.
