Agreed - JT is great guy. Just this morning he straightened me out on the proper speakers for a Proto 2000 E7A sound installation. I had mistakenly purchased the long-weight speakers when I should have ordered the short-weight speakers.
JT asked me if I wanted to return the speakers for an exchange. I told him I would just purchase the correct ones and keep the others for another project.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
There you go ... JT is a credit to the community of model railroading.
Hi Tom, I sent JT an email, and he responded back to me promptly...He said I should try the yellow box speaker version. That would be this 1...ALYB-RS3X-RC1.
Thank you, Tony
Hi Tom, 1 question, are the weights screwed in? The weights in my rs3 are not. But looking at the pic, I think that is the right speaker. Only way to try it out, is to buy one.
Hi Tony,
This is what JT lists on his website for the Atlas Classic RS-3:
Does the interior look like the above? If so, the installation is up in the shell above the long hood.
Thank you IC TOM, I will do that. I am pretty sure he will recommend the right speaker. Thanks again...
Tony
Send your questions directly to JT Burke at Scale Sound Systems. He is very helpful and I've never had to wait very long for him to reply scalesoundsystems@gmail.com .
Hi all, I have a Atlas/Kato rs3 using a soundtraxx decoder (882004)...I would like to know which SSS speaker to use. The Classic or the Yellow Box one. I think it might be the yellow box. Yes or no?
Also, the soundtraxx web site says to use 2 speakers in series if the audio amp is 2 watts? True?
Any help is appreciated. Thank You, Tony
