1943MikeLED lighting would work if they're 12 volt and have transistors.
Did you mean resistors?
They are solenoid .. I should have done my research before purchasing .. duh!!
I think I'll use the combo for some LED lighting ... perhaps both street lighting and interior building lighting .. I was told by Ed at NEC this morning (7/21/23) that the LED lighting would work if they're 12 volt and have transistors. So, off I go to the Internet to see what I can find .. . This time only for a few for testing. I would want to be able to turn on and off the light(s) with momentary push buttons (for running trains in a darkened or lighted garage) so I could turn on or off street lights and interior building lights depending on the brightness of the garage.
Thanks for the reply ...
Mike
I believe that the switch8 is for stall motor turnout operators.
Are the Kato operators stall motor or solenoid?
For a couple days now I'm driving myself crazy trying to get an NCE Switch 8 + the Button Board to throw my Kato turnouts and a double crossover (one at a time ) on a new layout I'm in the process of building. I've done this just as a test to see if the boards work on my Kato turnouts - and one Kato double crossover. I only need to wire 3 turnouts and one double crossover for my new layout .. at least for the time being. No track laid yet ... just testing. My smaller layout that I've had for a year and a half uses Kato turnouts and a double crossover also (just two turnouts on that layout) and they're all thrown by NCE Switch Kats. All those work fine. However, I can't get this combo (NCE Switch 8 + Button Board) to throw anything. Really frustrating. I'll attach a diagram of my wiring (taken from NCE and altered to reflect my testing) so that you all might catch something I've missed. I hope it's not that the Switch 8 + Button board won't throw Kato turnouts .. but, alas, that's what I'm thinking about now.
Any help would be appreciated.
