Until recently, I have always used my Mini Panel just to program track routes.
Recently, however, I have begun to experiment with loco movements as you are doing.
My advice is to register on the NCE DCC group on groups.io for specific advice on this particular issue. There are a few experts on the NCE DCC site that will respond and get you up and running.

run loco -A- for 30sec stop and wait for 10 sec
run loco -B- for 30sec stop and wait for 10 sec
run loco -A&B- for 30 sec and wait for 10 sec ... repeat !!!
