If that doesn't work and you don't know what address the decoder might have, put it on the programming track (isolated from all other locomotives) and program CV8 to 8 to reset it. Then it should respond to address 3.

I'll second Steve's suggestion.  There was a time I would spend hours trying to figure out what was wrong.  It was much easier just to reset the decoder and then reprogram the CVs I wanted.

Sounds like the decoder is fine, but not getting commands. Possibly your throttle isn't on the right address. If you haven't programmed the address, switch your throttle to address 03. If that doesn't work and you don't know what address the decoder might have, put it on the programming track (isolated from all other locomotives) and program CV8 to 8 to reset it. Then it should respond to address 3.

Hey folks, I just hard wired a TSU-1100 into a Proto 2k S1. I'm aware of the orange wire issue and made sure the motor was isolated. I can read all the CVS and write to the decoder just fine on the programming track. However, on the main I apply power, the startup sounds begin, prime mover idles and that's it. No function buttons works, no lights, no motor control. My keep alive works and I'll maintain the sound for a good 10 seconds after I kill track power. Any idea what's going on?
