My train room in the basement has2vents for heAt. Maybe the BS from the vents floated and landed.  I run the trains once a week. The rest is critiquing time.i live in Chicago so heats needed. So do your 215\s ever act up I do not want to use electrical cleaner do to the plastic. I have heard that the board inside does this sometimes

You should never have to change a feeder and never heard of airborne varnish. Never cleaned any of mine when I still used them except maybe valumed them.

The railroad is going strong for four years.how do you keep the internal contacts clean for the selectors. Iam at the point of maitanence. I have also changed 14 feeders this year they where full of airborne varnish. By the way I have moved the selectors right now several dozen times.the flow through them can be minimal afterwards.
