Check on Ebay.  I've always been able to find them, and check your LHS, if you have/use one.

In DC-DCC mode, with the chip installed, it's probably slower than your other locos, right? My understanding is that in DC enable mode, it requires more voltage to move in DC mode, compared to a straight DC loco. If you do not operate in DCC, you could just remove the chip, connect the wires from the wheels directly to the motor (and lights) and resell the chip. I would keep it for future use, but that's up to you. If the tech says there is no jumper available, then hardwiring is the only solution I can see, unless someone else here has a better idea.

I have the option to buy a current SD70ACu which is factory fitted with DCC. Given that this looks like it's hard-wired in so no 21 pin socket, is it possible to get it to function as a DC only model would?

I asked Athearn tech who tell me the jumper boards are unavailable.

What I am looking for is the ability to consist with my other straight DC units.

Thanks
