Issue: I installed a TCS Drop in decoder. It programmed fine and reads the number, as well as directional lighting. The locomotive does not move though. I hear the motor humming for a few seconds, but then it seems to give up. Then it tries again. Same result. The metal strips are a little bent, could that be the issue?

These are the opinions of an under 35 , from the east end of, and modeling, the same section of the Wheeling and Lake Erie railway. As well as a freelanced road (Austinville and Dynamite City railroad).
Can you post a couple of pictures? Are the motor wires or strips of metal? Are they soldered?
Wires, but I believe I found the issue.
My motor is running, SO I dug into the worm gear. The one gear would spin freely when moving the flywheel. I put the truck in that side, and it wouldnt spin. So I tried it with the other truck assembly- same issue. So I went further in and looked at the drive. The universal between the worm gear and the motor was damaged, so I ordered a couple replacements and I'm trying that.
