What brand of switches? Some Piko switches have rails very close together at the frog that can be shorted by the wheels touching both at the same time.

If the wheel gage is too tight the wheels may short at the points of some switches.

Question on a BLI SD9
Posted by tankertoad70 on Saturday, September 25, 2021 2:11 PM

I was recently given a BLI SD-9, w/ sound.  I note that the lokey shorts out repeatedly going over switches on our club layout.  Other sound equipped DCC lokeys do not do so.

Any thougts regarding what causes this.  I have noted the same issue with other members BLI lokeys but no one has an issue with Bowser or Atlas sound lokeys.Cowboy
