Hi all, please tell me how to insert small wire plugs into mabuchi motor. I am missing something for sure!
Thank You all...Tony
Your first few posts are moderated so there will be a delay. What version FK-280 do you have? The Mabuchi I use is a FK-280SA 14200 and it has solder terminals.

Hi Mel, it is the Mubuchi sf266sa 1g160 motor...What I did, I removed the plastic cap, and soldered the wires directly to the 2 lugs. Is that ok?
Thank You...
Yes, I have several of the 266 motors and so far I haven’t needed to remove any of the plastic endbells.Mel Modeling the early to mid 1950s SP in HO scale since 1951My Model Railroad http://melvineperry.blogspot.com/ Bakersfield, California Aging is not for wimps.
Dad Blam-it! From the thread title I thought someone had found a new retail source! Fortunately, I'm rather happy with the SMC motors I purchased.

The FP/FS 280 RPM is a bit low for an Athearn BlueBox frame, just under 11,000 at 12 volts. It is very powerful with 1.3A locked rotor at 12 volts. As long as you don’t want to operate at 100+ MPH HO scale it would work fine.I bought a pair but haven’t actually put one in an Athearn frame. The Mehano 182331-110-G-5 is also very powerful, 1.24A locked rotor at 12 volts also 11,000 RPM.A small screwdriver will pry off the metal shield, I got the metal shrouds of rather easily. Start at the splice and open the shroud just a bit and the motor slides out.
