Plenty of motors on the LGB site, might find the right one.
There are few G scalers on this forum - you might want to try the Toy train forum.
I dabble in O scale. I changed the motor of a brass ten-wheeler, and I can tell you that although I put in the largest can motor I could find, I still have to juice it up quite a bit to make it run...
It seems that the Aristocraft also has the same technical challenge. This manual (which applies to both the Mikado and Pacific):
http://gscale.net/images/manuals/Aristo_Mikado_Manual.pdf
http://gscale.net/images/manuals/Aristo_Pacific_Parts.pdf
says that the motor has a built-in cooling fan. So replacing it will not be obvious!
You can try Trainz, that sells parts:

Good luck. It's such a beautiful piece, I hope you are successful.

Hi All,
I was introduced to a new aquaintance yesterday who has a "dead" G scale Aristocraft 4-6-2. Are motors for these not available or is there are substitute available that someone can suggest please?
Thanks in Anticipation from Australia
