I just mentioned this in another thread. The 8 pin plug is not keyed so you can put it in the wrong way, but the wiring is laid out such that if you to plug it in backwards, nothing fries. The motor will turnt he wrong way, but the lights won't work. So if the lights aren;t workign at all, then the 8 pin plug is backwards. If the lights agree with the direction but it's backwards , adjust CV29. If the lights are out of sync and the direction is backwards, flip the motor wires.

Or, if the lights are working properly and the motor is running in reverse: Add a "1" to the value of CV29 and that will reverse the direction of travel.  If the lights follow the direction of travel with the 8-pin plug turned around, however, just reverse the motor leads.

If you're using an 8 pin plug, and the headlight/rear lights arent working in the proper direction, AND the motor is reversed then you just have to flip the decoder around, yes.

On a non sound decoder, you just flip it around, you saying that will not work with a sound decoder.

Just reverse the motor wires.

I have the loco with small drivers and large drivers and SoundTraxx Micro sound.

I did that about eight or nine years ago I think.

Temporarily installed asdn136ps in a Bachmann 4-6-0 just to see what was up. it works but runs oposite of my other engines, guess I failed the tracing so do I just have to turn the decoder around?  Speaker housing is next (just did a tape install so far), can I just make a housing out of styrene, lloks like plenty of room near the front of the tender and coal shoveling area is a separate piece.
