Got a couple of D102-eu decoders

Got a couple of D102-eu decoders

Was thinking of using these to learn about DCC installs with wires as if they blow up, no loss, they were free as part of a bulk deal. Are they OK decoders, haven't found anything really online. I know what EU stands for and I was told they never put out a US verson, dose this make a diference in a cheap decoder.

 They are somewhere around 23 years old. At least they have 128 speed steps. But what they do not have is high frequency PWM drive, so they will make the motor buzz. The manual is on the NCE page under the Old and Archived Decoder Manual section:
