Is anyone controlling a NCE command station over WiFi and what other components are you using?
as far as I know, the is no direct WiFi interface to an NCE command station.
A PC or Raspberry Pi are needed to run JMRI's Panel Pro which is what the WiFi throttle connects to
an NCE USB interface connects the PC/Raspberry Pi to the NCE cabbus (like any other controller)
and of course, you can use the WiFi throttle running on a smart phone

WiFiTrax has 2. One is a module that plugs in to the cab bus, that's the first one they came out with, the WFD-30
WifiTrax - WFD-30
They now have a new one, the WFD-31, which replaces the PCB of any cab bus panel OR PowerCab Panel - it does what the PowerCab Panel does for the PowerCab PLUS adds a WiFi interface.

So with these devices do I still need a router and an internet connection, or will a smartphone connect wirelessly directly?
4 throttles direct, no router, or 8 if you link it to your own router.
