Yep, Rich, I did too. Cut part of the frame with a Dremel for the speaker. Ah, how I love the sugar cube speakers! Just installed a Loksound 5.0 micro in a Stewart S-8 and the speaker and enclosure (from ESU) fit into the frame above the front truck. My 44 tonner experienced cracked gears so I recently replaced them with two replacement gear assemblies from Bachmann. They perform well.
I know what you mean about eyes and hands!! Much harder to do soldering now, especially of sugar cube speakers.

That does soumd nice.
Some years ago I put the v3.5 in a Bachmann 44 tonner. Fingers and eyes will not allow modeling anymore. Nice running loco.
Did it to a 70 tonner also. Stripped everything out includding upper weight. Made my own weights and stufffed them up into the shell.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
Just downloaded and installed newest Loksound 5 file for G.E. 44 tonner. It is outstanding! Much better than previous files for this loco. Love the traction motor sound! Thank you, ESU! Well worth the effort to adjust the CV's again.
