Mistake in Ques. Signal system

The instructions on the IRDOT web site are pretty straight forward, while I couldn’t find a statement that the IRDOT has built in series resistors for the signal head LEDs their pictures show the LEDs connected direct to the screw terminals on the IRDOT.

 

If your signals are LED and have resistors in the wires they should work without the resistors.  If the LEDs are really dim remove the resistors.

 

The IRDOTs have built in delays for the color of the signal which may or may not work for your layout.  I use three block detection which give me absolute colors.

I have not gotten the signals yet so I am completly flexible. There is a wire pigtail connected to it.

One green wire to position 1.

One Red wire to position 5

One black wire to position 6

The only marking is the IRDOT stamped on the back.  It has 6 screw terminals on the front where the wire connections above are located. The emitter and detector stick out the back. Layout time period is the early 1950's .You can see an exact picture on

We can’t help you without information on the signal and the IRDOTs.  It’s like saying I have a vehicle can you tell me how to fix it.

I have just been given 6 IRDOT IF,s.   I would like to wire these to a simple signal system.  Train goes over IF signal changes from green to red.

How do I wire this?
