Hello, I have two different controllers that I would like to run one one track, at different times. I have tried hooking them up to a speaker selector, but they didn't like that much and got pretty hot. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I would suggest a double pole double throw centre off switch.
From big box, electrical supply house hobby shop, or possible at a model railroad show.
Use the same guage wire you use on the layout.

Hello All,
My question is...
What type of controllers- -both DC, Both DCC or are you trying to combine DC & DCC?
Hope this helps.
"Uhh...I didn’t know it was 'impossible' I just made it work...sorry"
Both DC. One is a tech 2 2500 and the other is a mrc sound power and light 9000 with the momentum stuck on, so instead of buying a new one, I just figured I would make something work.
If you are trying to alternate between DC and DCC control, be careful that any DCC controls, or things like reversing loop controllers, DCC fascia plugs, etc. are totally isolated from DC track power. DC power will fry any DCC component it touches; it may not happen all at once, but it will happen.

Since they are both DC the suggestion of...
davidmurray...a double pole double throw centre off switch.
would be my suggestion also.
You can also find these at auto parts stores too.
