I haven't been on MR in a long time. Preoccupation and other problems. anyway,. I'm still using standard DC because I like to do all the wiring myself and make it just a tad more to it than DCC. I was wondering if anybody knew of any means of making a really simple hot box detector that actually measures the temperature of the RS, and any dragging equipment detectors and load shift detectors that could actually make a sound/light etc if say, I had a pack of Zig Zag Blues on a flat car that was hanging off the side? I'm getting into wiring on my 4x12 and I think wiring/electronics is the coolest part of model railroading. I'm hoping that if anybody can help me they can help me in DC compatible means, keeping it simple enough for a brain injured me to understand (I can understand how to wire block selector DPDTs wired into signals powered by another dc source, and how to make what I call ELD, (electric locomotive detection signals) but when it starts getting into atlas selectors and arduino and ic chips i'm like whoa, I bareley understand what a transistor does). I only just got into learning electronics and schematics. Anything about DEDs and HBDs that actually work would be great info to listen to. thanks fellow modellers, keep them wheels a turnin, eh!!
