We are stuck without a picture of your wiring, your gaps, what reverser are you using and are you using a circuit breaker?

You have to follow the directions to post a pic in this forum; it is not intuitive.  Basically you need a free site to upload the picture to, (imgur, Flickr, ImgBB) then you have to figure out how to get a link that is either:

  • a picture format, ending in .jpg or .bmp and use the picture icon above
  • a BB-Link which can be pasted directly in you reply with control v

It can't be a Facebook or Google photos or Instagram pic.

If you do a Google Photo post I can repost it for you so everyone can see it.

the only place it was shorting out was on the leg shown in the picture

You didn’t make them downloadable, I had to make screen captures.

From the On Guard directions:

The fixed trip setting of the OnGuard breakers and reversers are higher than the power output of some of the low power systems like the Zephyr and PowerCab. When a short occurs the system goes into overload before the OnGuard breaker reaches its trip setting.

That doesn't sound good.

Maybe the OP should get the breakers made for his system.

I can open his pictures OK.

Will the digitrax AR1 work with a Powercab or does he need to go with the PSX-AR?  I could see NCE intentionally not mentioning their competition as an option.

His pics are just plain old Flickr pics.  He just needed to click on the arrow at the bottom right and copy the BBlink.

My NCE system works fine with AR-1s.

Can't you adjust the trip point on the On Gaurd?
