Touch Toggle Compatibility with Walthers Layout Control System
Posted by Lisaais on Saturday, March 2, 2019 12:28 PM

I'm evaluating the use of Berrett Hill's touch toggles to control Walthers Layout Control System switch machines on my DCC layout.  Has anyone utilized these to date?

The Modeler's Spotlight Video/Inside Cody's Office for October 2017 is helpful, though Berrett Hill's website doesn't show any adapter for the Walthers switch machines (#942-101 and 942-102) like they have for Tortoise units.  Would the Direct Base still be used, or might another component/configuration be needed, such as the Universal Translator for DCC?

Welcome to the forum.  Your intial posts are moderated, hence the delay.  When they appear, they appear back when you posted them, so I'm giving you a bump up to today.

The Berrett supplies 2 wires to the tortoise and the Walthers system supplies 3.  I can't help but maybe someone can.  For MRVP subscribers, the Walthers video is:

I can't answer your question, but will tell you that i just finished wiring tortoises with touch toggles and love them...super easy to wire.

Thanks gents, yes I'm sure it shouldn't be too difficult, as long as the electronics don't conflict.  I'll order a couple of touch toggles to experiment with, and can post back here with results for future reference.
