Hi Guys:

The owner checked carefully and discovered the "Y" button was stuck down.

He fixed this and cured the problem.

Thank you to all.

 Numbers always going up, it might just be that the + button is pressed in and stuck.

Well, just for the fun of it, try totally cutting off the power, disconect, remove batteries, etc., just let it die.

Then start it again.

Just a thought.

I have been lucky a couple of times fixing electronics that were dropped. Using a magnifying glass I found the cracked circuit and another time I found the crack using the microscope at my wifes Vet hospital. Both times a quick touch with the soldering iron fixed the problem.

Former Model Raiload editor Bill Shakespeare would suggest:

Round about the cauldron go;
In the poison'd entrails throw.
Toad, that under cold stone
Days and nights has thirty-one
Swelter'd venom sleeping got,
Boil thou first i' the charmed pot.

Double, double, toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.

Sorry to have fun at your friends expense but I will never again have the chance to use Shakespeare in a Model Railroad Forum

Just so no one gets the wrong end of the stick, I do not condone or suggest that you complete the rest of the potion using body parts from several ethnicities.   That would be politically incorrect for even me.

Maybe Randy will have some insight into your problem

Thankfully, I haven't had any problems with my Digitrax throttles.

I understand that there is a chip in a socket on the board inside. There are instructions as to how to open the case somewhere on-line. It involves removing the two screws under the battery cover then sliding the two halves about a quarter inch. Then carefully separate the halves being mindful of the battery connections.

Perhaps the chip can be reseated.

Have you checked all the rubbery buttons? I've had them stick with unusual results.

Good Luck, Ed

One of our club members dropped his DIGITRAX DT-402 throttle.

All electronic functions are now automatically increasing at all times.

      Set the thrittle at one, it steadily increases to 99 and stays there.

     Attempt to set a loco number, and it keeps going up.

Do any of you know a cure, other than sending back to the manufacturer??
