TCS Wowsound has it too, they call it "Audio Auto Shutoff".
MRC sound decoders have you press F8 three times to do a shut-down routine. Once it's completely shut down, pressing any function button initiates the start-up sequence.

The loco I have is a Scale Trains, and yes, F8 does the start up sequence, and F8 again, shuts it off.

As I understand CV113 is not defined by the NMRA, therefore proprietary to Tsuanami. The way David explained it, it is a delay and a time out. The time is the value you enter as CV 113 divided by 4 = seconds.
My take was the loco would still eventually start making sounds when that limit was hit. David activated the horn and engine also started up. He then said that if you did nothing else, the engine would time out and stop making noise.
I don't see this function described in the loksound manual. It doesn't sound like a must have function to me.

I have one loco with an ESU sound decoder, and if I want sound, I need to press F8. When I put the loco on track, there is no sound.
I don't know how the rest work.
I just watched Episode 20 of AskMRVP and someone had a question that pertained to sound locomotives turning on when track power is turned on. David then demonstrated "quiet mode" (CV 113) on a loco with Soundtraxx Tsunami sound decoder (question is at 8:06 on Episode 20 of ASk MRVP)
My question is, is there a "quiet mode" with TCSWOWSound or ESU LokSOund decoders? Keep in mind that Im not talking about the Mute function.
