I have a link from the Bachmann forum I saved a few years ago that should work.

You should be interested in the Bachmann site. Lots of good info there.

    1)  Program CV 8 to 8 (can use either Service Mode or Operations Mode programming)
   2)  Cycle power to the decoder by turning power to the track off and back on

After about six-seconds upon restoring power the headlight and backup light will blink simultaneously 16 times indicating that the CVs were successfully reset. However, if sound or lights come on immediately upon restoring power, the decoder did not successfully reset. Repeat the two-step procedure.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.

Hi Angelo:

This may not apply to your situation but I will mention it anyhow.

What DCC system are you using? The reason I ask is that I have an NCE Powercab system and there is a bit of a quirk in how to select a locomotive with a reset decoder. If you are using an NCE system, after you reset to the factory defaults, you want to select locomotive '3', not '003' despite the fact that the display will show '003' once selected. Seems like a minor point but if you use '003' the locomotive won't respond. The system sees '003' as a long address.

I did this to myself with one of my critters a couple of years ago. I thought I had a bad decoder because '003' didn't work after the reset. I ended up tearing the decoder out and I did a lot of damage to the shell in the process.Dunce

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

Try CV8=8.  That's the usual reset for a Bachmann decoder.

Who knows?  I would perform a factory reset if that is possible under the instructions for operating with DC.  I do know that this particular locomotive had some motive problems that develop before long, I seem to recall with gearing.

Happy Thanksgiving

I have a climax DCC loco I purchased last year. I ran said loco on a dc system to be sure it worked. Long story short today I put it on my layout section design to run that loco and although I have some control, lights work FWD and REV I have no motion.  Did my testing on a DC control track mess some CV or ...

Thanks in advance for the advice.
