Several years ago, before my DCC layout, I purchased an older Shinohara double crossover, the one with the two point rails electrically linked. The points have a small copper/brass tab that electrically contacts the stock rail. On one of the point rails the small tab has broken off. I've watched a U-tube video on wiring a newer Peco double crossover where the points are not linked. It won't work here. Is there any way of salvaging this beautiful to look at, ugley to work, double crossover? I have a perfect place for it (on my layout). Thanks.

Some people wire small gauge jumper wires from the stock rail to the point rail just to insure reliability.
I do not know how that would affect any power routing that may exist in that crossover. Somebody will.

Are you sure it is a Peco turnount? From your description, this is how older Shinohara turnouts are built. The points electrically tied together, and the small tabs to make contact with the stock rails makes me wonder....

You are right, it is the older Shinohara double crossover. I'm now thinking there is not much I can do to make it DCC friendly. Would the "newer" Peco work with DCC?
