I was just looking at the Bachmann website and forums and I see the loco has an eight pin socket for a decoder. Both motors must be pre-wired.

I have done a Bachmann 44 ton DCC with two motors and wired them in series. I know, different beast.

Place for two speakers. I did see a site that describes how to set up a SoundTraxx Tsunami to simulate two prime movers but no idea how it would work for your decoder. Give it a try if you have not thought about it. Scroll down a ways.

Installing Digitrax SDH166D Sound Deocer into Bachmann Spectrum DD40AX

Hello all,

I am currently wanting to install a sound decoder into a Bachmann Spectrum DD40AX. I have installed deocders before but because the DD40AX has two motors, I am wondering what this does to the wiring.

If anyone has any knowledge of wiring a single decoder to two motors, that would be a great help.

Thank you
