They are in general all set up similar to the Atlas form factor decoders, outer two pins at the ends are the track pickups, center ones are the lights. Some have the connectors, which are not plugs and sockets, but rather friction fit connections, the housing slides back to release the wires. Some have the wires and/or headlight soldered right to the board, no connector. Some of the FT boards are more complex because they have the connections for the side LEDs that lit up the numbers on the sides of specific units.

Mine has the long PC board and the front LED is soldered directly to traces under the PC board......no wires. Towards the rear of the board after motor is a NMRA 8pin DCC plug with a DC jumper installed and a color code printed on the board for pin function. Mine is from 1999 F7 Phase I Early A/B set:

I thought I was going to know something about this, but my F3 lightboard did not have a place for an 8 pin plug. It does have soldering pads, labeled P1-7 and the lights are labeled.
I see Ed has posted as I am writing. If yours does not look like Ed's post a picture.

Does this picture help?
Headlight looks like it is wired to the two pins of the front plug just inside of the two track pickup wires. Longer leg of the LED should be +

All my Stewart/Bowser Fs are the older ones, not DCC ready.
Hope that helps, Ed
If you mean the ones with the 8 pin plug, the NMRA standard for the 8 pin plug is pins 6 and 7 are the headlight. 7 is the common (positive) - blue wire from a decoder with leads. 6 is the negative, white wire.
Hi
Had good response from this forum before.circuit board.
Can anyone help with a wiring diagram for the Stewart F3 dcc ready. Board is marked with number 0203.
Front light goes to which pins?
Thanks
