Thanks guys
It's pretty much a full-function DCC controller that switches to a really clean DC controller. The DC side is programmable for start voltage, accelleration and decelleration, however, the DCC side is limited to only six single-digit addresses. It is also availlable in a 6-amp version which is usually much cheaper than the equivalent DCC system. I've had the six-amp version for many years, and have no real complaints. It also comes with it's own handheld.

At our club, which isn't filled with a bunch of tech savvy folks, a group was working on a stalling problem on one loop of track. It was controlled by a Tech 6. As they wear working they mentioned that the loop was running on DCC. I told then I didn't think so that the Tech 6 only allowed control of DCC sounds when in the Dual mode, and the loop was not powered by DCC. I think I am correct as far as I went , but am unsure of exactly how the Tech 6 does what it does and what type of power is going to the tracks. Any advise or information would be welcomed.
