i am planning on building Smoky Hollow Junction and would like to run DCC. Is it then true I don’t have to do any special wiring?!
A link to a track plan diagramme would really help. Otherwise, I'd have to guess, and would be averse to doing that.
Generally, DCC is easier to wire, but the problems with conflict in phase/polarity are the same in both methods of track electrification. For example, if you have a reversing loop or turning wye, you'll have to overcome the potential conflicts using the same remedies (auto reverser or a toggle that reverses polarity/phase).
is this what your planning on building?

Yes. That is it. Thanks!!
If it is the plan below you will not need more than one district, one main bus plus feeders to various spots, generally 6' apart if you solder most rail joiners for continuity.

Modeling HO with a transition era UP bent
Thank you so much!! I have wired layouts before, but it has been several years. Now that I have decided to back to modeling, I though I would try DCC. I appreciate your timely response and have a happy new year.
