Hi All,
I removed this decoder from a locomotive awhile back, but I did not purchase this and I don't know what type of decoder this is or who made it. Can anyone tell from the pictures? Do you know if this has sound? Any information is greatly appreciated.
PS. Measures 2" by 5/8"
Thanks.JRP

Looks a lot like a Digitrax DH163LO decoder with a Proto 2000 adapter plug from a Proto 2000 SD7/9/60 loco. A non sound decoder.

This decoder was retired in 2006 and replaced with a DH 165LO which has the plug in for a soundbug module.

I have a DH163L0 laying around somewhere, I thought it was longer than that looks, but it's been years since I used them - my first two decoders some 14 years ago, and I never used any more.
You can hook track wires to it, and a spare motor, or else a 1K resistor and and LED to the motor terminals (orange is +), and read CV8 and get a manufacturer number.

Thanks fellas,
I think I'll put this up for sale cheap. I need sound and have a couple of Eco-200's coming soon in the mail.
