GraniteRailroader

If you need further help with QSI issues, send me a PM.

Anyone needing sound files or similar, as well...

GR, with all due respect, what would be the point of sending you a PM as opposed to someone with a question or problem simply posting on the public forum to get as many responses as possible?

When I first read your reply, I assumed that you must be associated with QSI Solutions in some way. Do you have some particular expertise with QSI Quantum decoders?

The QSI Solutions website has been taken down.

Here is a link to your manual.

THANKS

Even the manual that came with the locomotive does not provide that information.

I can’t find a QSI Quantum website  Indifferent

When I read my Decoder it says the manufacturer is 113 and the Version is 7.

Does that mean I need to be referring to the Quantum Version 7 Manual?

There is no Quantum Version 7 Manual.

The manual that applies to your specific decoder is titled NMRA DCC Reference Manual for QSI Quantum Q1a HO Equipped Locomotives Version 4.0.2 for Firmware Version 7, 16 August 2006

The relevant CVs here are CV7 (Manufacturer Version No.) and CV8 (Manufacturer's ID). In your decoder, CV7=113 and CV8=7. So, you have a QSI Industries decoder, firmware version 7.

Here is what the QSI Quantum Manual, Version 4.0.2. for Firmware Version 7 has to say about the firmware on its Quantum decoders.

This reference manual completely describes all features currently available in DCC when operating a Quantum locomotive which has Q1a Version 7 firmware. If your locomotive has Version 6 or earlier firmware, use the Quantum DCC Reference Manual Version 3.

Hope this helps.

Depends on the brand and make of locomotive the QSI decoder is factory installed in.

Example,  Atlas Gold Series Diesel Locomotive then you should be using this user manual

http://www.atlasrr.com/DCC/Revised%20%20Quantum%20Titan%20User%20Manual.pdf

If you have a different locomotive, contact the locomotive manufacturer or contact http://qsindustries.com/contact.html but neither may be able to help you. In which case replace the decoder.

BTW - 7 is the firmware version not the manual version.
