I was asking about the mechanism INSIDE the TYCO Unloading Boxcar. I removed the body shell to access the mechanism. I have tried to put the parts for the mechanism back together with no luck and NO diagram for the INSIDE of the boxcar. David Briel

Hopefully someone here has one and can get a photo of the inside to see how it all goes together.

Odd .... I click on my link and it opens up the instruction sheet just fine. (?)

Mark.

That's because you already had it open through the site. Once you open it, the link also works to take you directly back there. Works for me now that I browsed to the location in another tab.

I didnt have the unloading boxcar but I did have the log dump car, and it was dead simple - just the block with contacts that ran into the unloading station, and a solenoid built in to the car. The box car is likely very similar. I also had the piggyback unloader, that oen was slightly more complex, there were two motors controlled by the two sticks ont he control console, the lever just moved contacts for reversing switches - like wiring a DPDT toggle with crossed wires for polarity reversal. Otherwise just a bunch of gears. Nothing complex to really figure out.

It would have been nice if if the HO toy train manufacturers of the 1970s such as AHM, BACHMANN, LIFE-LIKE and TYCO had broken down parts diagrams for their operating cars similar to what ATHEARN currently does with their Ready to Roll line of HO scale rolling stock.

The original instruction sheet didn't even show it in its broken down parts ....

David,

I found the boxcar......It's in their 1974 catalog. Click on link and go to 1974 Catalog and click on it a menu will show then click on ''Action Accessories'' and pic's will show of the boxcar/unloading dock on the top left corner.....sorry no way to get instructions though.

I would like to repair the mechanism on a TYCO HO Burlington Unloading Boxcar so that it unloads the crates reliably. The car dates back to the 1970's. I am having problems putting the existing mechanism back together since there is not a diagram for it on their instruction sheet. David Briel
