The Layout and Engines (60+) have expanded considerably the last few years and due to the increased power demands and layout complexity my DB150 can't keep up with the demand. I have recently bought two PM42's to remedy the power demands and also allow me to isolate shorts to sub districts so the whole layout isn't affected. My future plans now include block detection and signals. The jury is still out whether or not I will eventually go with a laptop interface. The DB 150 is about 14 years old and will need an upgrade. The question is where do I go? Will a 210 be sufficient or shoul I consider the 220. I'd appreciate your input.

The DB210 and DB220 are pure boosters, no command station functionality like the DB150.
Yooour best upgrade path is probably an Evo set, with a DCS210. That gives you an advanced command station with dedicate program track, and use your existing DB150 as a plain booster. Hook one to each of the PM42s so half the layoout gets power from the DCS210 and the other half from the DB150. That's 10 amps distributed around the layout and unless you run large op sessions that's enough to keep an easy 20+ locos running.
