Before contacting Atlas about this, I thought I would post here since it's a Sunday anyway and I have nothing to lose. I got a new Atlas GP40-2 (WP 3550) from MB Klein. They don't have any more in stock, and though the loco's sound system powers up, it's very distorted and won't respond to any commands on address 3, and my Digitrax PR3 can't read anything from the decoder.
Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong/solvable before I bother Atlas with it? The shell on this particular model isn't exactly easy to remove.
