Digitrax DH165IP reprogramming problems
Posted by AEM7AC929 on Thursday, April 27, 2017 1:17 PM

Recently, I installed a DH165IP decoder into my Atlas ALP-44. Today, I test ran it for the first time to make sure everything worked after installing DCC. I test ran it around my layout on address 03. I then proceeded to place it on the programming track for reprogramming the address. I reprogrammed it as I normally would for any other locomotive. However, to check that everything was working, I hit the CV-RD Button (using a Digitrax DCS51) to confirm the address was changed. The display kept blinking unusually for a few seconds until a new message came up. The panel read "d  nr" which I assume meant did not read. To double check, I placed the loco back on the mainline and tried throttling it up on address 03 and also on 4405. I got no response. The loco just sat there. I'm sure power was flowing because the loco was illuminated. I then tried to reset the decoder, but that came up with a "d nr" and no response also. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I'm using a Digitrax Zephyr Xtra set (DCS51).

D-NR is no response fromt he decoder. You have: dirty track, dirty wheels, dirty pickups, or a loose wire going to the factory board in the loco.

Just push it ahead a little and see if it works. All else fails, try setting CV8 to 8 and doing a reset.
