I put toggles in my two throttles and two belonging to my club. Saves many batteries and avoids a melt down if someone flips the battery the wrong way.

Digitrax Throttle Battery Switch
Posted by Tophias on Sunday, December 4, 2016 12:17 PM

As was discussed in one of last week's topics regarding the introduction of Digitrax's new DT500 throttle with an on/off feature, I mentioned having to remove the battery after every use in my DT402 is a pet peeve of mine (maybe if I had fingernails it would be less of an issue).  So I got to thinking about a video I saw a few years ago by "Big Al" showing how to install a small toggle switch to one of the battery leads.  Back then I was reluctant to open the throttle and void the warantee.  Now years later, I said the heck with it!  The throttle is probably out of warantee anyway!  So for $3.00 and an hour's time (any second install would take half the time due to the learning curve) I now have what I always wanted.  It works just as advertised.  My point is, if I can do this any of you can too.  The hardest step is just deciding to go ahead and do it!  The next hardest step is getting the case back together, but no big deal.  One suggestion would be to use a Radio Shack micro-mini switch (or another brand's equivolent), which will make the fit that much easier.
