Walthers SW-1 plug in decoder choice

A you tube installation suggests a TCS dp 2x decoder. Not interested in putting in sound at this point and this looks like a good fit in regard to space requirements and ease of install. Any other reccomendations for this application? Thank you

ndbprr,

That's the one I used and it works great.  TCS has become my go-to non-sound decoder becasue of it's excellent motor control.

For sound or non-sound, you just can't beat ESUs motor control. I'd take a serious look at their LokPilot line of decoders ....

For me - TCS and ESU are essentially equal on motor-control.  And another one that nobody ever mentions is Lenz.  Their Silver and Gold decoders rival TCS and ESU.  I have a Blueline Niagara outfitted with a Lenz Silver MP decoder that will do 0.3sMPH.

I appreciate the info but the tcs has the plug on the back side of the circuit board meaning it is the smallest possible fit available with no wiring harness or bigger fit issues so it will be the tcs decoder
