Just because there are empty pins does not mean that there is a "spare" lighting function associated with them.

What you probably want to do is "ring out" the front headlight pins and add your markers to it. At least they will only be on when moving forward.

IF I recall correctly, pin 3 is + and pin 4 is front headlight.

Right now I don't recall which engines have cab lights and which do not. (The F7s and GG1 certainly do) I have a bunch of PRR steam from BLI and some have cab lights and some do not...If I get time in the next day or so I'll take a look.

Regards, Ed

gmpullman

I have had several of my BLI locomotives opened up and did photograph some...

BUT

Photobucket has decided to take another (frequent) vacation so I can't access any of my photos or wiring sketches right now...

My S1 turbine has markers, that are annoyingly bright and continuously ON. I plan to fix that someday.

Are you planning to try to tap an existing lighting function for your markers? If not and you want them to be always on it would be a simple job to wire the LEDs through a 860Ω or 1KΩ resistor to the rail pickups. Are you using DCC?

When Photobucket decides to let me back in, I'll post a photo.

Good Luck, Ed

yes Im using DCC..My T1 doesnt have rear marker lights...I want to have them....there 2 open slots/places on that decoder thats nothing is hooked too..wanted to see if any of your BLI with paragon2 with rear marker lights, where your plug too..
