TCS WOWs use CV 3 and 4 for momentum, just like other decoders. The factory default is I believe 35 for CV3 and 95 for CV4. This is so that if the engine is running and you just shut off the 'throttle', it will slowly drift to a halt. You have to hit the brake (F7) three for four times to bring it to a halt (each one reduces speed 20%). I changed it to both being 35, which brings the engine to a nice stop after just hitting the F7 button once.
I've found for many settings use the vocal feedback works well...although my wife sometimes wonders who the woman is talking to me down in the basement.
Glad to hear you solved your problem. The TCS WOW decoders certainly sound good and are very high-tech, but the learning curve is long compared to Tsunami.
I am still playing with the TCS steam decoder that I installed a few weeks ago. Speed matching was easy, but for me the BEMF is a problem. The loco surges when going down hill on a 2% grade with a long train behind it. I've tried turning BEMF off with CV61, and by messing with the JMRI "BEMF sensitivity" setting, but changes do not seem to make any difference.
