Marty,

I have a DCS100 for my layout.  I picked up Zephyr when our LHS was shutting down.  At $119 it was a steal(and I had some tax refund money burning a hole in my pocket).  So, the Super Chief runs the layout, and the Zephyr is upstairs in the 'Man Cave' with some EZ Track at my workbench.  If the DCS51 would have been available in the 90's, it would be the layout system.  I have a pair of the DT400 series radio throttles, but generally use my smart phone for a throttle now.

I think it is the Athearn  ATH77992 model I bought DCC ready.I bought it  cheap figuring I would later get the encoder for it. I installed the Select Aux6 decoder and reprogrammed it for the Dash9-44CW (7FDL16 prime mover). I rechecked all my other locos and this one is the only one that is reversed. So it must be wired that way. I tried the Aux 6 decoder in my other new loco a KATO C44-9W , and it was okay. So are all my MTH units. So it is the one unit foretunately. I was getting worried for a while there.  Do you recommend another power pack as a second system if I have to ever get the DCS51 repaired? Stay with Digitrax?

Marty,

The cab bus on most DCC system is proprietary.  You have a Zephyr Xtra?  And are using the built-in throttle?  Getting an extra throttle will do no good if the system is off to Florida for repair(usually about a month).

Are you sure that you did not do something with the programmer that changed the default direction in the decoders?

I have a Zephyr Plus now and when I put it in forward it goes in reverse. On all my DCC locos. This just started happening. I have been reprogramming my Select Aux 6 decoder using the Lokprogrammer, when I noticed this. Coincidence maybe. So anyway, Digitrax said reset throttle which I did numerous times , no change. So  they said send it in for repair.

I am considering buying a second throttle, so if I send it in for repair I can still run.

NCE, MRC, Stay with Digitrax? I only have a 8ft bt 7 ft layout so I don't need a super chief! Lol...
