16KHz is common with DCC decoders as well. My dogs never noticed. They do perk up when I blow the whistle though. The mass of the motor usually prevents it from resonating at 16KHz so there's no smplification of the sound. Some motors might though - which is why some DCC decoders have a CV to adjust the frequency.
Better question is how do those caps on Bachmann locos like 16KHz?

Whatever people's opinions on this system, the fact that you can update your protocol with one click is a pretty good proof of concept. I hope all systems going forward are this updateable.
