A value of 6 will enable DC operation and set the decoder for 28/128 speed steps. This is usually the factory default.

Add 4 to whatever value you already have for CV29.
Yes, you have to,. I have had to.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
Hi,
It should just operate the same as an analog locomotive when under DC power without programming. The decoder should recognize the absence of AC current/binary signals from the console and switch to DC mode automatically. My suggestion would be to try it first at a low DC voltage, it shouldn't hurt anything in the decoder. Good Luck! :)
Will a locomotive with a TSU-1000 SoundTraxx decoder run on DC as received (i.e. factory settings) or do I have to program that feature in by resetting CV-29?
