Can somebody please explain to me (novice DCC person) what the "DCC CONCEPTS AEC Central Integrated Digital Switch is or does? I just saw this product at MB Klein. I read the product details but did not do well understanding the capabilities of this item. Thank you.
In my understanding of the product, it will send DCC commands to stationary decoders, say they're wired to switch machines, so you don't have to tie-up a throttle to keep throwing turnouts by switching between addresses.

Could be a handy device. Only possible drawback I see it it would have to be stationary, so if you have walkaround, you would still have to go back to the "control panel" to align switches.
But for complex areas it would certainly be worthwhile.

They have a version that does not have the buttons integrated, so you can spread the controls out along the fascia and tie them back to one unit.

The whole point of a contrivance like this is to avoid running more wires to the turnouts. Everything connects to the DCC bus.
LION *likes* wires and does not use DCC.
Him also likes real interlockjing machines.
