All: Rick Rideout sent a diagram with the info.  He is a credit to our hobby.  Many Thanks, Andy

Looking at my rix machines that were removed from my layout 17 years ago...The contact at the base of the actuating arm was wired to the frog in my DC layout.  The other 2 wires on either side went to the far left and right rails of a DCC Unfriendly Shinohara turnout.  There must have been gaps beyond the turnout, but I do not remember where.

This is how I wired the machine, although there was a momentary contact button in there somewhere.  http://www.trainlife.com/magazines/pages/118/8540/june-2004-page-18

That article calls for AC, I don't remember what I used.

Hi Andy:

I couldn't find a wiring diagram on line.

Maybe try contacting Rix directly. Here is Rix home page. Scroll to the bottom for contact information:

Installing Rix twin coil switch motor

I am re installing a Rix twin coil switch motor in new layout, but cannot find the wiring instructions.  I am not sure which set of contacts goes to the frog.  Also, do I use DC or AC?  Many thanks in advance.  Andy Chandler
