I'm seeing more and more of these on the market and would love to know if anyone has sound in thier n scale models and what might be the better decoders sound wise.

Thanks mark! I'd love to get my fleet some sound so I'll give those a look
A fairly new decoder. The SoundTraxx Econami is for N scale HO and On30 and a little smaller than the old Tsunami N scale 750 micro. Good for one amp and no heating issues like the 750. Being discussed a lot in the Yahoo SoundTraxx Group.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
The pricing looks pretty good for the SoundTraxx Econami. Thank you!
It's not as loud as the ESU LokSound.
gatrhumpy It's not as loud as the ESU LokSound.
woodone gatrhumpy It's not as loud as the ESU LokSound. And you know this how? Both decoders and same speakers enclosures and models used for testing- use a DB meter?

I think he's referring to the low horn sounds on the Tsunami ?
Joe
I would guess that he has not heard to new Econami?
I installed two decoders (one ESU and one Econami) both installed into the same models and the same speaker and enclosure. I did not use a DB meter. The sounds with the Econami were louder to my ear and many others as well. These are used in an retailstore to sell sound decoders. So far the Econami is selling better.
Both sound files, same locomotive, max volume, the Econami was about 75-80% of the volume of the LokSound.
So you are using a DB meter? What kind of speaker and loco is being tested ?
Just looking for a level playing field.
I am not using a DB meter. Same 8mm by 12mm sugar cube speaker, same 567 sounds, max volume for both decoders.
